Regarding Custom Curtains

Measure tool→

If you have a track rod, the length will be chosen according to the length of the track rod to the floor.
You may find a very detailed measurement guide through here→

If something is not sure, please don't hesitate to contact us. Our professional agents will recommend the right size for you.

Our curtains are priced per panel. When you select the quantity of 1, there will be 1 panel in your order.

We know that lighting, screens, and real-life settings can greatly affect how a color appears. Which is why we always encourage customers to order physical Sample Books before making a final decision. It’s the way to be more confident in a color choice.

Memory training is a crucial technique that helps your curtains keep their shape and pleats looking neat. By giving the fabric a "memory", your curtains will maintain their elegant appearance whether they’re open or closed, adding sophistication to any room.

Find more details through here→

Curtain header styles are not compatible with Memory Training, including inverted box pleats, rod pockets, grommets, back tapes, flat hooks, 4-in-1 headers, and ripple folds.

These styles are engineered to establish and preserve their intended look through their structural design and mounting method, making Memory Training unnecessary.

Typically, the stacking width makes up 20% of the ordered width. We advise taking it into account when determining the appropriate rod length to ensure the window opening is fully visible when the drapery is opened.

Together with your parcel, it will include enough hooks and rings to hang up on the curtain rod.

For roller metal hooks, curtain rod and track, please shop separately.

When using pleated header styles like pinch pleat, inverted pleated box, ensure that the maximum finished curtain width without seam is 56 inches for curtain lengths above 108 inches.

For lengths below 108 inches, there is no requirement for a seam, irrespective of the finished width.

However, if the finished width exceeds this limit, it will be necessary to use double-width curtains with a vertical seam.

180 inches Width; 236 inches Length.

Curtains that exceed this maximum size are not eligible for memory training.

Due to the higher measurement requirements for irregularly shaped windows and sloped ceilings, you can send photos to our email at support@homerilla.com, along with your ideas. We will also design multiple solutions for you to choose from and guide you on which parts to measure.

Generally, the length of curtains depends on the position of the curtain rod.

Measure the length from the curtain rod to the floor, then subtract 2 inches to get the curtain length. This ensures the curtains don’t drag on the floor.

If you prefer curtains that puddle on the floor, you can add an appropriate length to the measurement from the curtain rod to the floor, so the curtains drape more naturally and fully on the floor.

Mounting the curtain rod close to the ceiling (rather than right above the window frame) is a classic trick to enhance the visual sense of space in a room. The core principle is to guide the eye upward through vertical lines, making the room appear taller and more spacious visually.

Typically, light-filtering curtains are installed in living rooms and dining rooms to ensure ample sunlight. Blackout curtains are used in bedrooms for sound insulation, noise reduction, and to guarantee quality sleep.

Of course, if you’d like, you can install double-layer curtains: a sheer layer plus a blackout layer. During the day, you can use the sheer curtains to block visibility, and for afternoon naps, the blackout curtains can create a completely dark environment, so that your sleep won’t be disturbed by light.

Apologize we do not offer free sample swatches. You can get our sample book per collection through here→

You will need to purchase a set of sheer curtains, a set of blackout curtains, and a set of double-track/double-rod curtain rods.

When you receive the curtains, the color looks normal, but once hung up, it seems as if the color has changed. The core reason is the difference in observation environment and fabric state leading to changes in visual perception, not an actual color deviation of the curtains themselves:

First, the difference in light environment: When received, the light source is single and the fabric is folded or laid flat; once hung, the curtains are in an open space, and the mixed illumination of natural light or indoor lamps, even the reflected light from outdoor scenery, will alter the color presentation.

Second, the impact of fabric form and background: When folded, the fabric is smooth; when hung, folds create light and shadow, making the color appear darker or uneven. Additionally, when the curtains are installed next to walls or furniture, the background color sets off and amplifies tonal deviations.

The color perception of small pieces of fabric is weak, but when hung as a large area of color, subtle tonal differences become prominent, ultimately making people feel “the color has changed.”

Curtains with prints or patterns typically have length restrictions. Curtains longer than 100 inches require splicing two pieces of fabric together, and the patterns cannot be perfectly aligned. This is why length limits are imposed.

The most popular curtain heading style is the Pinch Pleat - Double, and we always recommend choosing this one. It glides smoothly when opening and closing, with relatively little impact from friction.

Additionally, this heading style is compatible with both standard curtain rods and tracks, making it suitable for a variety of scenarios.

Please check if your curtain rings are twisted 180 degrees. Twisted rings can cause the pleats to twist, making the curtains look uneven. Before hanging the curtains on the rod or track, ensure all pleats are aligned in the same direction. Proper installation will help the memory training effect show neatly.

Regarding Custom Blinds & Shades

Due to the unusual proportions of this particular shade, it requires special adjustment to ensure proper lift and balance. We will upgrade it with a wooden headrail to enhance stability and performance.

For Roman shades that exceed the stable size ranges, we use a wooden header system to ensure greater stability and durability.

If your custom shade has unusual proportions, for example, a width of 25" but a length over 55". Our manufacturing team will replace the standard headrail with a wooden one to ensure proper function and durability.

The choice of lining may also affect the headrail system for shades of the same dimensions. Please rest assured that the wooden headrail does not affect the overall appearance of the shade and is chosen solely to ensure smooth operation and long-term performance.

Please do not cut the cords or touch the lifting mechanism on the back. These parts are essential for the shade to function properly. Cutting or adjusting them may damage the product and make it unusable.

Please do not attempt to pull the fabric or unfold the shade before it is fully installed. Operating the shade while the headrail is not securely mounted can cause the internal cords to tangle and damage the shade.

Damage caused by improper handling is not covered by after-sales service. Once installed, use both hands to gently and evenly lift or pull down the bottom rail.

Avoid pulling from just one side.

If you choose inside mount, make sure your window frame depth is larger than the shade headrail.

The shade width should be 1/4 inch smaller than the window frame width.

This clearance ensures the shade can fit into the frame smoothly without getting stuck during installation.

For outside mount, make sure both width and height are larger than the window frame so the shade fully covers the window.

If the frame depth is less than the shade headrail, choose outside mount for proper installation.

Regarding Custom Rugs/ Carpets

To make sure your rug fits perfectly in your space, start by measuring your room’s exact dimensions—length and width. Then, consider furniture placement: leave a consistent border of at least 6~12 inches around the rug for a polished look, or center larger furniture pieces (like a sofa) on the rug for balance. Don’t forget to account for doorways or high-traffic areas where the rug shouldn’t obstruct movement.

If you have any questions, our team is here to provide you with professional advice anytime.

Absolutely! Homerilla rugs are designed with pets in mind. You can easily clean both the rug cover and the pad to get rid of stains, odors, pet hair, dirt, slobber, and whatever else your furry friend leaves behind.

Sustainability is a core value for us. Our rugs are crafted with a variety of non-toxic, eco-friendly materials. All our materials are rigorously tested to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards for safety and environmental responsibility. You can feel confident that your rug is not only beautiful but also kind to your family and the planet.

We also have the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which aligns with our commitment to environmental and sustainability standards.

The average lifespan of a custom rug can vary depending on the materials used and how well it’s maintained, but with proper care, most high-quality custom rugs can last 5 to 10 years or even longer. For example, rugs made from durable natural fibers like wool or organic cotton tend to have a longer lifespan, while synthetic blends (like polyester or nylon) are also known for their longevity. Factors like foot traffic, sunlight exposure, and regular cleaning can all impact how long your rug stays in great condition. We recommend rotating your rug every few months and cleaning spills immediately to help extend its life.

Maintaining your custom rug’s quality over time is all about regular care and a few simple habits. Here’s what we recommend:

  • Vacuum regularly: Aim for at least once a week, using a vacuum with a brush attachment to avoid damaging the fibers. For high-pile rugs, you might want to vacuum in both directions.
  • Clean spills immediately: Whether it’s coffee, wine, or pet mess, blot the area with a clean cloth (don’t rub!) and treat them with mild detergent or our rug cleaner. This prevents stains from setting in.
  • Rotate or flip periodically: Every 3–6 months, rotate your rug 180 degrees to even out wear and tear. If it’s reversible, flipping it can extend its life significantly.
  • Avoid direct sunlight: UV rays can fade colors over time. Try to keep your rug away from windows or use curtains to filter the light.
  • Deep clean occasionally: For a deeper clean, follow the care instructions on your rug or consider professional cleaning every 1–2 years, especially for high-traffic areas.

With these simple steps, your custom rug should stay looking great for many years to come!

What are the differences between wool, synthetic, and blend rugs? Please explain briefly, within 500 words.Wool rugs, synthetic fiber rugs, and blend rugs differ significantly in their materials, characteristics, and suitable applications.

  1. Wool Rugs: Natural animal fiber.
  • Soft and Comfortable: Luxurious touch and excellent foot feel.
  • Durable: High fiber resilience and resistance to wear, ensuring a long lifespan.
  • Natural Properties: Excellent sound absorption, heat insulation, and moisture-wicking capabilities.
  • Eco-friendly: Wool is a natural, renewable resource that is biodegradable.
  1. Synthetic Rugs: Man-made chemical fibers such as polypropylene, nylon, and polyester.
  • Affordable: Significantly lower cost than wool.
  • Easy to Clean: Most can be machine-washed, making them convenient to maintain.
  • Rich Colors: Good dyeability, with bright and fade-resistant colors.
  • Durability: Some synthetic fibers (e.g., nylon) have high strength and wear resistance.
  1. Blend Rugs: Made by mixing wool and synthetic fibers in a certain ratio.
  • Combined Advantages: Incorporates the softness of wool and the durability and easy-cleaning properties of synthetic fibers.
  • Cost-effective: Usually cheaper than pure wool and more comfortable than pure synthetic fibers.
  • Strong Functionality: By adjusting the blend ratio, wear resistance, stain resistance, sound absorption, and other performance can be optimized.

Processing usually takes 6-9 business days, and shipping time 5-7 business days.

Cleaning your custom rug is easier than you might think—just follow these simple steps based on the care instructions for your specific rug:

  1. Vacuum Regularly
  • Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to gently remove dust, dirt, and pet hair.
  • For high-pile rugs, vacuum in both directions to get deeper into the fibers.
  1. Spot Clean Spills Immediately
  • Blot the spill with a clean, absorbent cloth (don’t rub—this can spread the stain!).
  • For water-based spills (like coffee or soda), use a mild detergent mixed with water.
  • For oil-based spills (like wine or grease), apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain and work it in gently.
  • Rinse with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
  1. Deep Clean Periodically
  • For a deeper clean, follow the care instructions on your rug. Many synthetic rugs can be machine-washed on a gentle cycle with cold water.
  • Wool rugs should be professionally cleaned every 1–2 years to maintain their quality and appearance.
  1. General Maintenance Tips
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach, as this can damage the fibers and colors.
  • Rotate your rug every few months to prevent uneven wear.
  • Use a rug pad to keep your rug in place and reduce friction between the rug and the floor.

By following these simple steps, your custom rug will stay looking great for years to come!

Step 1: Blot the excess liquid.

Step 2: Mix a mild detergent (like dish soap) with warm water to create a soapy solution.

Step 3: Dip a clean cloth into the solution and blot the stain gently. Repeat until the stain fades.

Step 4: Rinse with a damp cloth to remove any soap residue.

Step 5: Let the area air dry completely.

General Tips

  • Act Fast: The sooner you treat a stain, the better chance you have of removing it completely.
  • Check the Care Instructions: Always refer to the care label on your rug for specific cleaning recommendations, especially for delicate materials like wool or silk.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Steer clear of bleach, ammonia, or strong cleaning agents, as they can damage the rug’s fibers and colors.
  • For Stubborn Stains: If the stain persists, consider professional cleaning services, especially for high-value or delicate rugs.

Step 1: Blot the excess oil with a paper towel.

Step 2: Sprinkle cornstarch or talcum powder over the stain to absorb the remaining oil. Let it sit for 15–30 minutes.

Step 3: Vacuum the powder off the rug.

Step 4: Apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain and work it in gently with a soft brush.

Step 5: Blot with a damp cloth and let dry.

Step 1: Blot the excess ink with a paper towel.

Step 2: Apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol (70%) to a cotton ball or cloth.

Step 3: Blot the stain from the outside in to prevent it from spreading.

Step 4: Rinse with a damp cloth and let dry. Test this method on a small, hidden area first to ensure it doesn’t damage the rug’s color or material.

Yes, you can definitely vacuum your rug! In fact, regular vacuuming is one of the most important steps in maintaining its cleanliness and longevity.

How Often to Vacuum

  • Daily/Every Other Day: For high-traffic areas (like hallways, entryways) or rugs in homes with pets or kids.
  • Weekly: For low-traffic areas (like bedrooms) or rugs made from delicate fibers (like wool).
  • Pro Tip: Vacuuming helps prevent dust and dirt from settling deep into the fibers, which can cause wear and tear over time.

Important Tips for Vacuuming

  • Remove Obstacles: Clear the area of any objects (like toys, shoes, or furniture) that might get stuck in the vacuum.
  • Check the Care Label: Always check the care label on your rug for specific vacuuming instructions. Some rugs (like those with fringe or delicate patterns) might require extra care.
  • Avoid Over-Vacuuming: Vacuuming too frequently or with too much force can damage the rug’s fibers. Stick to the recommended frequency and use a gentle setting.
  • Use the Right Attachments: For tight spaces or areas around furniture, use a narrow nozzle attachment to reach those spots without moving the furniture.

The best type of vacuum for your custom rug depends on the rug’s material and pile height:

1. For Most Rugs (Synthetic, Wool, Blend)

Upright Vacuum with a Brush Attachment: This is the most common and effective choice. Look for one with a brush roll (the rotating brush at the bottom) that’s gentle on fibers. Avoid vacuums with beater bars that can damage delicate wool or high-pile rugs.

Canister Vacuum: If you have a larger home or prefer a more maneuverable vacuum, a canister vacuum with a soft brush head is a great option. They’re often quieter and more versatile.

2. For High-Pile Rugs (Shag, Faux Fur, Plush)

Handheld Vacuum or Mini Upright: High-pile rugs can trap a lot of dust, and a standard upright vacuum might not reach deep enough. A handheld vacuum or a mini upright with a long hose can help you get into the fibers more effectively.

Pro Tip: When vacuuming high-pile rugs, use the lowest suction setting to avoid damaging the fibers.

3. For Delicate Rugs (Wool, Silk, Vintage)

Vacuum with a Beater Bar Cover or Soft Brush Head: If your vacuum has a beater bar, use a cover or switch to a soft brush head to prevent it from beating the fibers flat or causing pilling.

Manual Vacuum or Handheld: For extremely delicate rugs, a manual vacuum (like a carpet sweeper) or a handheld vacuum with minimal suction might be safer.
